They have a variety of paninis, macarons, pastries, bottled drinks, parfaits, and other to-go food, not to mention a big menu of espresso and cold drinks. I really wanted to try everything (as usual), but settled on Salmon Caper Focaccia. I really wanted to also try the Croque Monsieur Tartine, but that will have to wait til next time! I also ordered Yuzu Iced Tea (which my friend, Dene swore by) and a Caramel Latte!
The Yuzu Iced Tea was everything that it was hyped up to be. Seemed simple to make- Iced Tea, and Yuzu marmalade. Mmmmm, does anyone know where to get the marmalade?! If I had that, I'd put it on everything! The Caramel Latte was pretty, but didn't excite me like the Yuzu Iced Tea did. I highly recommend this citrusy refresher!
As for the Salmon Caper Focaccia, I liked it too, but was more impressed by the dressing on the salad! I believe it was Maui Onion dressing, and can be found in a big bottle at Costco. I immediately went to buy myself a bottle of this stuff. So delicious! Not too onion-y at all.
Gorilla in the Cafe (and their parking) is located in the Bank of Hawaii building in Waikiki, next to Teddy Bear World. Look for the life-size Teddy Bear waving 'Hello!' to everyone, and Gorilla is right there!
PS- I have yet to try any of their Macarons, but have no fear, I'm definitely going back!
