Soul De Cuba

My best friend, Kristen, was only home for less than a week, so we had or usual traditions of dinner/drinks and Happy Hour. I thought the perfect place for great happy hour and food would be downtown at Soul De Cuba. First came here on a Valentine's Day date, and loved the food. I've been trying to come back for their famous Sangria and more delicious cuban food. The first time I ate here, I had their famous Mojito and Rabo Encendido (Oxtail dish) and absolutely fell in love (with the food).

This time though, I wanted to try another dish they were highly known for. Our waiter suggested the Ropa Vieja which is shredded beef with onions cooked in a light tomato-y sauce served with rice, plantains and black beans. I thought it was delicious as well, but probably would still go back to my beloved Rabo Encendido. The Oxtail is one of the most tender pieces I've had, and prepared in a red wine sauce. Absolutely rich and tender!

I also got to try their Sangria, which I think is better than the Mojito. I'm a sweet drink kind of girl, and anything that is alcoholic, but tastes like juice, is my kind of drink. This sangria tasted like liquid candy! Sweet with a bit of tang from the fresh cut Granny Smith apples.....wonderful, but dangerous! Get down there for their Happy Hour Monday-Thursday 4-6pm! Mojitos $4, Sangria $5.
